Steelers brass take keen interest in OSU skill players

The Pittsburgh Steelers have always taken a keen interest in NFL draft prospects from Ohio State University. The Buckeyes held their pro day on Wednesday but the Steelers got a jumpstart on it Tuesday night. According to Steelers beat writer Gerry Dulac, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Khan met with Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard as well as running backs Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson on Tuesday night.

Howard is a fascinating quarterback prospect. He’s got great size, a strong arm, lots of athleticism and plenty of swagger. It’s easy to watch Howard play and see many of the same traits Ben Roethlisberger had coming out of college.

Henderson and Judkins were the best running back tandem in college football last season. Judkins was technically the backup but we like his skill set better for what Pittsburgh needs at the position. The rub is that it is highly unlikely either guy will be around when the Steelers pick in the third round.
